HRW urges India to repeal AFSPA, PSA in IHK

New York, June 06 (KMS): The Human Rights Watch has urged India to repeal Armed Forces Special Powers Act, which has led to widespread rights violations and human sufferings in occupied Kashmir.

In a letter written to the Indian Prime Minister, Dr Manmohan Singh, the Director Asia Division of the Human Rights Watch, Brad Adams has said that the Indian soldiers found responsible for serious human rights abuses remain unaccountable because of the immunity provided to them under the law.

Sacrifices centre-stage Kashmir dispute at world level

Srinagar, June 06 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani has said that Kashmir is an internationally recognised human and political issue and the Kashmiris want its peaceful resolution.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian rulers tried to portray the Kashmiris’ liberation struggle in negative sense by creating impression that it was a law and order problem and Kashmiri people wanted to vitiate the peaceful atmosphere.
