New Delhi, February 20 (KMS): The President of Jammu and Kashmir Democratic Forum, Pundit Bhushan Bazaz, has said that friendly relations between Pakistan and India are imperative for progress and prosperity of the region.

India fomenting sectarianism in IHK: Gilani

New Delhi, February 20 (KMS): The veteran Kashmiri Hurriyet leader, Syed Ali Gilani, has said that India is trying to divide the people of occupied Kashmir by fomenting sectarianism in the territory.

Syed Ali Gilani in a statement issued in New Delhi strongly denounced the authorities for not allowing his party, Tehreek-e-Hurriyet, to hold a Seerat Conference in Islamabad town and arresting the party leader, Mir Hafeezullah.

Civilian shot dead in Sopore town

Srinagar, February 20 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, unidentified gunmen shot dead a 22-year-old civilian at Arampora in Sopore.

Police said that the gunmen knocked at the door of the house of Umar Rasool Kaboo and asked him to come out.  “He was shot dead outside from point blank range in his head,” the police said.
