Minimum sentence to Dr Fai somehow welcomed, KSC

Oslo, March 31 (KMS): Minimum sentence sanctioned by US court against Dr Ghulam  Nabi Fai Executive Director Kashmir American Council after withdrawing the charges from him to be working for foreign state is somehow welcomed. 

Kashmir struggle to continue against all odds

Srinagar, March 31 (KMS): The All Parties Hurriyet Conference Chairman Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has said that the sacrifices of the Kashmiri people have created a widespread awareness about the Kashmir dispute all across the globe.

Talking to media men, today, at Srinagar airport upon his arrival from a two-week hectic tour of London, Geneva and Saudi Arabia, the Mirwaiz reiterated that the Kashmiris would continue their peaceful struggle diplomatically and politically against all odds. He said that the Kashmir movement was indigenous and the Indian propaganda was baseless that it was foreign sponsored.

Mehmood Saghar deplores us court verdict against Dr Fai

Islamabad, March, 31(KMS): The Convener of All Parties Hurriyet Conference AJK chapter Mehmood Ahmed Saghar, deploring US court’s verdict against Dr. Ghulam Nabi Fai, said that Dr. Fai was a proud son of Kashmir who had been championing Kashmiris’ legitimate case at international level for more than 20 years.

In a statement issued in Islamabad, today, Saghar maintained that “For us Dr. Fai is a great patriot, who served Kashmiris’ cause of right to self-determination diligently and selflessly.”

JKSM welcomes UN official’s report

Srinagar, March 31 (KMS): The Jammu and Kashmir Salvation Movement has welcomed the UN Special Rapporteur Christof Heyns’s report in which India has been urged to repeal all draconian laws, including Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) from Jammu and Kashmir..

JKSM Chairman Zaffar Akbar Butt in a statement said that the continued human rights violations had escalated in the territory due to these black laws like Armed Forces Special Powers Act, Jammu and Kashmir Disturbed Areas Act (DAA) and Public Safety Act (PSA).

Body recovered in IHK

Srinagar, March 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, body of one civilian Kareem Khari, 65, was recovered from Pandobal, Vailoo in Islamabad.  

A head constable of the Railway Protection Force was killed after being run over by a train in Baramulla. KMS
 

Indian army occupying 57000 kanals in IHK: puppet regime

Jammu, March 31 (KMS): The puppet regime has admitted that over 57,000 kanals of land have been occupied by Indian Army and other paramilitary forces in occupied Kashmir.

The puppet minister of Relief and Revenue, Raman Bhalla disclosed that Indian army and military forces and agencies in Jammu and Kashmir had occupied 57288 kanals and 8 marlas of land. KMS-
 

‘265 SPOs, 52 VDC members killed in IHK since 1990’

Jammu, March 31 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the authorities have said that at least 265 Special Police Officers (SPOs) and 52 Village Defence Committee (VDC) members patronized by the Indian army were killed in the occupied territory since 1990.

Replying to a question, the puppet Minister for Rural Development, Ali Muhammad Sagar informed the so-called Legislative Council that Rs 5.27 crore have been paid as ex-gratia in 265 cases of SPOs and Rs 49 lakh in 52 cases of VDCs who were killed since 1990.KMS
 

Dr Fai sentenced to 2 years in prison

Washington, March 31 (KMS): A District Court in Virginia has sentenced Kashmiri leader and the Executive Director of Kashmiri-American Council, Dr Ghulam Nabi Fai to two years in incarceration in a minimum security prison for not abiding by the local laws during his campaign in support of the Kashmir cause. After completing his sentence, Dr. Fai will remain under court supervision for three years.

 

AFSPA consuming innocent lives in Kashmir: UN Rapporteur

New Delhi, March 31 (KMS): UN Special Rapporteur Christof Heyns called for repeal of all draconian laws, including Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA), Jammu and Kashmir Disturbed Areas Act (DAA) and Public Safety Act (PSA).

Releasing an interim report of his 12-day visit to India and Jammu Kashmir, the UN Special Rapporteur on extra-judicial, summary or arbitrary executions told reporters in New Delhi on Friday, “AFSPA … has no role in a democracy and should be scrapped.”
