Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, the Chairman of All Parties Hurriyet Conference, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has said that the continued house arrest of liberation leaders on the martyrdom anniversaries of Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone is the proof of India’s fear from the popular strength of the Hurriyet.

Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, thousands of people converged on Langate in Handwara, today, to pay tributes to Kashmiri martyred leaders, Mirwaiz Maulvi Muhammad Farooq and Khawaja Abdul Ghani Lone.

Srinagar, May 22 (KMS): The Hindustan Construction Company (HCC), is executing a 300 MW Kishanganga power project in Bandipora district of occupied Kashmir, despite a warning by the Centre for Inter-disciplinary Studies of Mountain & Hill Environment (CISMHE), New Delhi, of terrible anti-environmental dangers of the project.

A report, prepared by CISMHE on Kishanganga, clearly pointed to the issues like environmental degradation and the impact on water quality of Bandipora.

“The impact on water quality is expected to rise from disposal of excavated material into the river channel. The muck will essentially come from the road-building activity, tunneling and other excavation works. “The waste going into the river channel will enhance the turbidity of water continuously for long time periods,” the report said.
