OCTOBER 27: THE BLACKEST DAY FOR KASHMIRIS

The recent surge in the liberation movement in Indian occupied Kashmir has unnerved India. Despite the killing of over one hundred innocent civilians by Indian police and troops, which started with the murdering of an 11th class student, Tufail Ahmad Matoo in Srinagar on June 11, this year, the movement is gaining momentum with every passing day. Political analysts are of the opinion that, this time around, the Kashmiris would not take respite till they achieve their cherished goal of liberation from India’s illegal occupation of their motherland.

Water crisis can trigger nuclear war in South Asia

Water is an ambient source, which unlike human beings does not respect boundaries. Water has been a permanent source of conflict between the tribes since biblical times and now between the states. The conflicts are much more likely among those states, which are mainly dependent on shared water sources. The likelihood of turning these conflicts into wars is increased when these countries or states are mainly arid or receive low precipitations. In this situation, the upper riparian states (situated on upper parts of a river basin) often try to maximize water utility by neglecting the needs of the lower riparian states (situated on low lying areas of a river basin).

Are Indian Nuclear Assets Safe!

An Indian nuclear scientist, Lokanathan Mahalingam, disappeared from the Kaiga Atomic Power Station in Karnataka on June 8, 2009 and his dead body was found from Kali River on June 13. The Kaiga plant is located near one of the biggest naval bases, Project Seabird and the scientist was working on the atomic plant since last eight years. He was involved in training apprentices on a replica of the actual reactor and was in possession of highly sensitive information.
