Srinagar, March 22 (KMS): In occupied Kashmir, amid a complete shutdown and pro-freedom slogans, the martyred youth, Parvez Ahmad Dar was laid to rest in Batapora area of Awantipora.
As soon as the police handed over Dar’s body to his family, hundreds of people rushed to his native village in Malangpora to participate in his last rites.
Thousand of people with pro-freedom and anti-India slogans carried the coffin of the martyred youth to the Awantipora stadium where his funeral prayers were held. Later, he was laid to rest in the local graveyard.
All shops and business establishments remained closed while traffic was off the road. Dead body of Pervez Ahmad was recovered from debris of the houses, which were destroyed by the Indian army’s 3 and 55 Rashtriya Rifles during siege and search operations on Saturday night.
On the other hand, panic gripped at Wagar Tral, when the body of one Bashir Ahmad Dar was found in the area. Three persons were critically injured when a vehicle of Indian Central Reserve Police Force deliberately hit a car at Lathpora on Srinagar-Jammu highway.
Meanwhile, a daughter of a Special Police Officer was killed and two other persons including the Officer suffered burn injuries when his house caught fire due to a short circuit at Kantwara Kishtwar. »
