Help to stop Indian barbarism in IHK sought

Srinagar, February 04 (KMS): APHC leader and the Acting Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Peoples League (JKPL), Mukhtar Ahmad Waza has appealed the international human rights organisations to take cognisance of stepped up human rights violations by Indian troops in occupied Kashmir.

Mukhtar Ahmad Waza, in a statement issued in Srinagar, said that the acts of Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory were aimed at silencing the Kashmiris’ just voice for their right to self-determination.

He urged the United Nations and its member countries to impress upon India to stop rights violations in the territory. “The use of brute force by the troops cannot deter Kashmiris’ resolve to continue struggle against Indian bondage,” he maintained.

Recalling Indian Prime Minister, Manmohan Singh’s pledge to show zero tolerance against human rights violation, he said that the troopers who were committing the crimes needed to be brought to justice.

Waza also condemned the incidents of teargas shelling and firing by Indian police personnel on peaceful protestors in the occupied valley. »
