Two Indian BSF women constables missing from Gwalior academy

Bhopal: Two women constables from the Indian Border Security Force have been reported missing from the BSF academy in Madhya Pradesh state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Akanksha Nikhar and Shahana Khatoon have been absent from the BSF’s academy in Tekanpur, Gwalior for over a month.

Authorities are conducting investigations, tracking their movements using phone records and CCTV footage across multiple states. The families are assisting the police in their search efforts.

Both constables, Akanksha Nikhar from Jabalpur and Shahana Khatoon from Murshidabad, West Bengal, had been serving as trainers at the academy since 2021. They were last seen on June 6, 2024. Indian media reports indicate that the investigation has revealed “suspicious activity” on their phones, with records showing their locations in Delhi, Howrah, and Behrampore, West Bengal, near Murshidabad.

Authorities are analyzing phone records and CCTV footage from various locations to determine the reason behind their travels. BSF units along the international borders have been put on alert as part of the ongoing investigation.
