Manipur students take to streets, attempt to storm CM’s residence
Imphal: Students in Manipur have taken to the streets to protest the ongoing crisis in the disturbed state of India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the protesting students have demanded the removal of the state’s Security Adviser and the transfer of the Unified Command to the state government. These demands indicate their dissatisfaction with the current handling of the situation and their desire for full control over state affairs.
Manipur schools were also closed on September 9 and 10 on the order of the education department indicating that students from various schools and colleges are deeply affected by the conflict.
The students attempted to storm the Chief Minister’s residence and the Governor’s Raj Bhawan, followed by a sit-in protest outside Raj Bhawan, highlighting the intensity of their emotions and their determination to bring attention to the ongoing crisis.
