Opposition leaders condemn BJP’s deceptive election promises in IIOJK

Jammu/Srinagar: In a scathing rebuke, opposition leaders in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir have joined forces to denounce the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) election manifesto, calling out the party’s history of broken promises and deceptive tactics.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Taranjit Singh Tony, General Secretary of the IIOJK Congress chapter, accused the BJP of perpetuating a cycle of deceit, saying, “The BJP has arrived in J&K with 25 new ‘jumlas’ to deceive the public once again. Time has proven that every election brings a barrage of false promises from the BJP.”

Former Srinagar Mayor Junaid Azim Mattu declared that he is not afraid of the administration and will fight against the BJP and its “appendages” until his last breath. Mattu said the BJP is being “anti-Muslim” and lacking a positive agenda for Muslims.

Former IIOJK Minister Yogesh Sawhney strongly condemned the BJP, stating that the party cannot whitewash its actions and policies in Jammu. Sawhney pointed out that under BJP’s governance, Jammu has suffered tremendously, with the revocation of Statehood being the biggest blow. He criticized the BJP for focusing on extortion rather than development.
