Hindu extremists vandalize mosques, Muslim shops in Tripura
Agartala: Hindu extremists damaged several Muslim properties, including a mosque in Kadamtala district of Tripura Indian state.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Hindu extremists tried to forcefully collect donations from Muslim shopkeepers for Dargah Puja. When they refused, Hindu gangsters ransacked a mosque and several Muslim shops.
Meanwhile, the situation in the area has become tense and the police have to open fire to bring the situation under control as a result of which one person lost his life while at least 17 people were injured.
The Congress MLA, Roy Burman, said Muslim shopkeepers are being forced to give donations. He said some miscreants want to spread communal tension in the area.
The Communist Party of India-Marxist (CPI-M) in a statement also said two Bharatiya Janata Party ministers are involved in inciting violence against minorities and are using social media for this purpose.
