Mirwaiz, Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam pay tribute to Allama Rasool Shah (RA) on 116th death anniversary

Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam paid heartfelt tributes to Allama Rasool Shah Sahib (RA) on his 116th death anniversary.

According to Kashmir Media Service, known as the “Sir Syed of Kashmir,” Allama Rasool Shah was a pioneer of modern education and a prominent religious scholar who founded the Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam over a century ago.

Mirwaiz Umar Farooq highlighted the late Allama’s invaluable contributions to religion, education, social reform, and public welfare. He praised Allama Shah’s efforts in uplifting the Kashmiri people from ignorance and poverty, calling them a shining chapter in Kashmir’s history.

“By establishing Anjuman Nusrat-ul-Islam in 1899, Allama Rasool Shah eradicated intellectual darkness in Kashmir through educational awareness, the impact of which is still evident today,” Mirwaiz remarked. He emphasized that the institution’s role in promoting education and empowering the marginalized continues to be monumental and deserving of recognition.

On the occasion, a Quranic recitation and special prayers were held, with participants praying for Jannat-ul-Firdous for Allama Rasool Shah (RA), his companions, former presidents, teachers, and supporters of the Anjuman. The organization reaffirmed its commitment to educating underprivileged children and guiding them toward understanding their rights and responsibilities.
