Congress to launch six-day statehood restoration movement in IIOJK

Jammu: The President of the Congress chapter in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Tariq Hameed Karra, has announced the launch of a six-day statehood restoration movement, starting from March 24.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Karra, in a meeting with party officials in Jammu, announced that the Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) will launch the ‘Hamari Riyasat – Hamara Haq’ movement to demand the restoration of statehood to IIOJK. “We will intensify the movement for the early restoration of statehood,” he added.

The movement will run from March 24 to March 29, and involve evening marches from various locations in the occupied territory in a phased manner.

Karra emphasized that Congress would continue its struggle for statehood, which is the right and demand of every citizen in IIOJK.

The meeting also raised concerns over the misgovernance of the BJP-led Indian government and its installed administration in IIOJK over the past decade, which has led to numerous hardships for the common people in the territory.
