Sikhs hold successful Khalistan referendum in Los Angeles

Los Angeles: The Sikh community in California, USA, participated in large numbers in the Khalistan referendum, voting in favor of an independent and separate homeland, free from India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, over thirty-five thousand Sikhs cast their votes in the Khalistan referendum. Leaders of Sikh for Justice (SFJ), including Gurpatwant Singh Pannun, announced that the next referendum would be held in Washington, D.C.

The voting process for the Khalistan referendum in Los Angeles, California, concluded after starting at 9:00 AM and continuing until 5:00 PM. The Sikh community enthusiastically participated in the referendum, with more than thirty-five thousand voters casting their ballots to demand the creation of Khalistan, an independent state in Indian Punjab.

SFJ spokesperson Gurpatwant Singh Pannun declared that the next Khalistan referendum would take place on August 17 in Washington, D.C. He stated that Sikhs are determined to establish their own independent state and, with their votes, are sending a clear message to India that they do not wish to remain under India’s control. He emphasized that they will respond to India’s bullets with ballots.

It is also noteworthy that earlier this month, Gurpatwant Singh Pannun commented on the Jaffar Express attack in Pakistan, stating that India’s intelligence agency, RAW, being involved in the attack and India is waging a covert war against Pakistan.

The Sikh community has long sought freedom from Indian oppression, with the Khalistan movement aiming for an independent homeland for Sikhs.
