12-year-old boy killed, six others injured in Poonch road accident

Mother-son duo die hours apart on Eid in Kupwara

Jammu: A 12-year-old boy was killed, while six others were injured after their vehicle met with an accident in Poonch district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the accident occurred near the Sawajian area of Poonch district when a local pickup truck, traveling from Sawjian to Narian, lost control and crashed.

The deceased has been identified as 12-year-old Mohammad Tofeeq, a resident of Gagrain. Six others sustained injuries and were shifted to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Meanwhile, in a tragic incident on Eid, a mother and her son passed away just hours apart in Kupwara district of IIOJK, leaving the entire area in shock and grief.

The deceased has been identified as 27-year-old Mushtaq Ahmad Wani, a resident of the Handwara area, who suffered a sudden heart attack and collapsed. The devastating news of Mushtaq’s death proved unbearable for his mother, who collapsed at home and died on the spot due to a heart attack.

The twin tragedies have sent shockwaves throughout the entire area. Local residents recalled that just a month ago, Mushtaq’s father had also passed away, adding to the family’s misfortunes. Mushtaq is survived by his wife and two young children, who now face an uncertain future.
