Muslim advocacy groups urge boycott of Sonu Nigam’s South Africa concerts
Johannesburg: Prominent Muslim organizations and activists in South Africa have called for a complete boycott of Indian singer Sonu Nigam’s concerts in the country for his anti-Adhan remarks and his close association with Narendra Modi’s regime.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Sonu Nigam is scheduled to perform at the Durban International Convention Centre on June 14 and at the Sun City Superbowl on June 15, 2025.
However, Muslim advocacy groups plead that participation in these concerts would be akin to encouraging an artist who has repeatedly disrespected Islamic beliefs and associated himself with anti-Muslim policies of the Hindutva regime in India.
