‘BJP govt using strong-arm tactics to stifle political dissent in IIOJK’

Islamabad: The Bharatiya Janata Party-led Indian government is using strong-arm tactics to stifle political dissent in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to a report released by Kashmir Media Service, today, the Modi regime is weaponizing laws to silence Kashmiris’ voices demanding freedom.
It said Indian authorities have continued their digital crackdown, suspending more than 200 Kashmiris’ accounts for exposing ground realities in the occupied territory. Speaking the truth in IIOJK is met with harassment, arrests and draconian charges, it added
The report lamented that India was systematically erasing digital resistance by censoring social media in occupied Jammu and Kashmir. Kashmiris are arbitrarily arrested and jailed for merely expressing their political views, it deplored.
It said that India continued to crush all democratic spaces in IIOJK to suppress the truth, adding basic rights, including freedom of speech and assembly, remain under siege in IIOJK.
The report said a climate of fear and suppression has gripped every corner of IIOJK under India’s brutal rule and has turned IIOJK into a silent prison, where dissent is met with persecution.
iIt said every Kashmiri is suffering the consequences of India’s brutal occupation but the people of Kashmir will continue to resist, despite India’s ruthless attempts to crush their freedom struggle.
