Intensified restrictions continue to remain in force in IIOJK on 2nd day today

Srinagar: Intensified restrictions continue to remain in force across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir for the second consecutive day, during a three-day visit by Indian Home Minister Amit Shah to the territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, senior police officials in Srinagar confirmed to the media that “a multi-tiered security framework” has been established, with further deployment of the Indian police, Army and Paramilitary personnel at all entry and exit points in the territory.

Indian Home Minister Amit Shah, who is currently on a three-day tour of occupied Jammu and Kashmir, on Monday, visited a forward post of Border Security Force along the working border in Kathua district. Shah flew in a helicopter to the Hiranagar sector of Kathua from Jammu around noon.

A massive search operation has been underway in the forest area of Kathua district since March 23. Four policemen were killed in a gunfight in the district on March 27.
Amit Shah is scheduled to travel to Raj Bhawan by road. The road from the airport to Raj Bhawan via Rajbagh-TRC is under round-the-clock surveillance. “Security has been beefed up throughout Kashmir, particularly in Srinagar, to ensure the visit ends without any incident,” a senior Police officer said. “Additional checkpoints have been set up, drone monitoring has been put in place, and Quick Reaction Teams (QRTs) have been deployed at strategic points.”

Officials said several routes leading to strategic installations are under watch. Drone surveillance is monitoring critical and high-traffic zones, and special Police and paramilitary units are performing area domination exercises. “Intensified frisking operations have been initiated at all entry and exit points in Srinagar city,” the officials added. “We are employing a mix of human and technical intelligence, including electronic surveillance, to keep an eye on any suspicious movement. Night patrolling has also been increased.”

Surprise checks, high-visibility patrols, and technical surveillance will continue to be in place during the Home Minister’s visit.
