Mushaal seeks formation of ‘People’s Alliance’ to confront Indian and Israeli occupations

Criticizes world’s complicity in Indian, Israeli HR abuses, war crimes

Islamabad: Mushaal Hussein Malik, the wife of incarcerated Kashmiri leader Yasin Malik and Chairperson of the Peace and Culture Organization, called for formation of a ‘People’s Alliance’ to oppose the relentless oppression imposed by the Indian and Israeli regimes in occupied Kashmir and Palestine, respectively.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mushaal Malik while speaking at a rally on International Palestine Day emphasized that both India and Israel were following similar paths, adopting identical policies to suppress legitimate freedom movements and extend their unlawful occupations in Kashmir and Palestine.

Mushaal pointed out that while Palestinians had accepted an international pledge for peace and signed a ceasefire agreement with Israel, Israel had unilaterally discarded the agreement, defying all international laws. She condemned this blatant violation of international commitments by the Israeli regime.

She expressed deep concern over the horrific conditions in both Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and Palestine, describing them as “killing fields and slaughterhouses.” Mushaal lamented the ongoing violence, where unarmed and innocent civilians, including women, children, and the elderly, are being tortured and slaughtered by occupying forces with impunity, without fear of accountability.

Mushaal highlighted the grave situation in IIOJK, where sexual violence has been used as a weapon of war and intimidation. She stated that over 11,000 women had been raped or molested by Indian forces since 1989, with the Kunan Poshpora massacre in 1991, where around 100 women were gang-raped, standing as a stark example of such brutality. She also noted that more than 23,000 women have been widowed, and thousands have been left as half-widows due to the forcible disappearance of their husbands since 1989. Additionally, many families have been forcibly displaced due to military operations and demographic changes in the region.

She criticized the occupation authorities for isolating Kashmir from the outside world, with internet throttling and media suppression used to prevent global awareness of the situation.

Mushaal also lamented the complicity of world powers and UN bodies in the human rights violations and war crimes being perpetrated by India and Israel. She stated that if these international bodies acted in the same way they did in support of Ukraine, they would have stood by the Kashmiri and Palestinian people in their struggles for freedom.

Expressing her disappointment, Mushaal noted that the hopes of oppressed Muslims are now fading. She called on civil societies in Muslim nations to join forces and develop a unified strategy to confront the Indian and Israeli regimes.

She emphasized the need to register criminal cases against the Israeli and Indian governments across the globe and to launch aggressive digital activism to identify and target their interests within the Muslim world.

“I will contact all civil society groups in Pakistan and the Muslim world to establish a People’s Alliance against these world’s worst oppressions,” Mushaal concluded. KMS-11U
