India cannot weaken the Kashmiri people’s struggle for freedom: Engineer Amir Muqam

Islamabad: Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan, Engineer Amir Muqam, has stated that despite all atrocities, India has not been able to weaken the Kashmiri people’s struggle to achieve their inalienable right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, while addressing a Kashmir Conference organized by APHC-AJK at Kashmir House in Islamabad, Engineer Amir Muqam said that as long as even one Pakistani is alive, the Kashmir issue will remain alive. He added that thousands of Kashmiris are imprisoned in Indian jails, and the leadership of the freedom movement is also in detention.

Muqam stated that India has not been able to extinguish the spirit of the Kashmiri people’s struggle for their right to self-determination. Today, Kashmiris are continuing their struggle more vigorously than ever before. He affirmed that they stand with the people of occupied Kashmir, now and forever, and that as long as one Pakistani is alive, the Kashmir issue will remain alive.

Engineer Muqam further mentioned that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif spoke boldly on the Kashmir issue at the United Nations. The Kashmir Conference was attended by Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Raja Zafar ul Haq, Prime Minister of Azad Kashmir Chaudhry Anwar ul Haq, Speaker of the Azad Kashmir Assembly Latif Akbar, APHC-AJK Convenor Ghulam Muhammad Sufi, Member of National Assembly Hafeez-ud-Din, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, political leaders from Azad Kashmir, and Hurriyat leaders.
