Modi regime disallows Mirwaiz-led MMU meeting in Srinagar
Mirwaiz, Moosvi placed under house arrest in IIOJK
Srinagar: Indian authorities have disallowed senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq to hold a meeting of the Mutahida Majlis-e-Ulema (MMU) at his residence in Srinagar to discuss the serious concerns of the Muslim community regarding the controversial Waqt Amendment Act, recently passed by Indian parliament. Mirwaiz Umar Farooq is also head of the religious alliance.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the authorities have sealed all lanes and bylanes leading to the residence of Mirwaiz Umar in Srinagar, Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
Religious representatives from all districts of the occupied territory, including Ladakh, Kargil and Jammu had already reached the valley to attend this important meeting regarding the Waqf Amendment Act.
The authorities placed Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Anjuman-E-Sharie Shian President and founding member of MMU Syed Agha Hassan Moosvi Al-Safvi under house arrest at their residences in Srinagar and Badgam.
Meanwhile, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minah in a statement issued in Srinagar condemned the Indian government for banning the meeting. Terming it a brutal act, he said that the BJP-led New Delhi regime is actually controlling all key offices in IIOJK while the National Conference government is powerless, which is being used by the occupation regime as a democracy cover in the territory.
