US Court indicts Indian National Nikhal Gupta for plotting the murder of Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun
Islamabad: A US court has formally indicted Indian national Nikhal Gupta on charges of plotting the murder of Sikh leader Gurpatwant Singh Pannun.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the judge of the US court imposed the charge on Nikhal Gupta and set the formal hearing for November 3, 2025. The court also ordered the seizure of $15,000 in cash found in Gupta’s possession. This amount was provided by a former Indian intelligence officer to pay a contract killer.
Nikhal Gupta was arrested in June 2023 in the Czech Republic and was handed over to the United States a year later. This case has exposed the controversial role of Indian intelligence agencies on the international stage. According to US investigative agencies, Indian intelligence agencies had conspired to murder a Sikh leader residing in the United States, which is a blatant violation of international law and US sovereignty. This case has raised concerns within the international community regarding India’s covert operations and is tarnishing India’s so-called democratic image.
