CASOs, raids continue for second day in Udhampur; Kishtwar, gunfight under way

Jammu: Indian troops continued their cordon and search operations in Uhampur and Kishtwar districts of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the troops continued the search operations on second day, today, in the Jopher and Marta villages of Udhampur district.

Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Udhampur, Amod Ashok Nagpure confirmed that the search operation is underway in the district.

Indian troops fired several shots last night.

The operation in the Chatroo area of Kishtwar district also entered its second day, today. A senior police official said that, following specific intelligence regarding suspicious activity, a tight cordon was established.

During the search operation, the troops came under heavy fire, which triggered a gunfight. A fierce exchange of fire is currently under way, the official said.
The troops have cordoned off the area, and reinforcements have been rushed to the site.

Meanwhile, Indian forces claimed to have detected and defused a powerful Improvised Explosive Device (IED) in Hafrada Villgam area of Kupwara district.
