Owaisi terms Waqf Amendment Act anti-Muslim, unconstitutional
New Delhi: All India Majlis-e-Ittehad-ul-Muslimeen (AIMIM) President and Member of Indian Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi has said that the Waqf Amendment Act brought by the Narendra Modi government is not only against the interests of Muslims but is also completely unconstitutional.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Asaduddin Owaisi in a statement said this law will make the encroachers the owners and instead of protecting the Waqf properties, it will pave the way for snatching them.
He said the mosques of Sambhal, Gyanvapi and Mathura are no longer the property of the board. He said that the government has turned the Waqf Board into a ‘post office’ which has no authority, this law is an attack on the fundamental rights of Muslims and the government should withdraw it immediately.
