Dilapidated roads claim four lives, 30 injured in IIOJK
Srinagar: Amid deteriorating road conditions, at least four people lost their lives and over 30 others were injured in multiple road accidents across Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir in the past 24 hours.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a predawn accident near Banihal In Ramban district, claimed one life and left nine others injured.
The accident occurred when a Tata Mobile vehicle carrying members of two Bakarwal families from Rajouri’s Teryath area overturned and crashed into a railway bridge wall.
The injured were taken to Sub-District Hospital (SDH) Banihal and later referred to Government Medical College (GMC) Islamabad for further treatment.
In another incident, a minor tourist lost her life after being struck by an unidentified vehicle in the Pahalgam area of Islamabad district. According to officials, the accident took place near the selfie point, where the vehicle hit and injured the young girl.
Also in Islamabad, a separate accident occurred in the Sinthan Top area involving an Intra-v (chota hathi) vehicle, resulting in injuries to eight individuals.
In Srinagar, two motorcyclists sustained critical injuries in a collision near Radio Kashmir flyover. They were transported to SMHS Hospital.
In Ganderbal, a three-year-old boy, identified as Mohammad Hussain, died after being hit by a vehicle in the Kullan Gund area. He was declared dead on arrival at SDH Kangan. In Bandipora, one person died and another was injured after a tractor fell into a gorge in the Duban area of Onagam.
Police have registered cases and launched investigations into all incidents.
