Kashmiri Diaspora urges Canada’s help to resolve Kashmir conflict
Ottawa: Canada-based veteran overseas Kashmiri, Syed Kausar Hussain Shah, has urged the Canadian government to play its global role in facilitating a peaceful resolution of the Kashmir conflict, emphasizing its importance for long-lasting regional peace.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Syed Kausar Hussain made these remarks while addressing a reception hosted in honor of Canadian Member of Parliament George Chahal. The event was attended by a large number of overseas Pakistanis, including members of the Kashmiri diaspora.
Kausar expressed hope that George Chahal would continue to actively advocate for the Kashmir cause while also addressing the challenges faced by the local South Asian community in Canada.
In his response, MP George Chahal thanked Syed Kausar Hussain Shah for the warm welcome and reiterated his commitment to public service. He stated that resolving community issues remains a top priority for him and reaffirmed his personal connection to the Kashmir issue.
Chahal noted that he has previously raised the Kashmir cause in the Canadian Parliament and on other platforms, and pledged to continue supporting it. He added that his efforts are not based on empty promises but on real action, and assured the gathering that the concerns of newcomers and immigrants would be addressed on a priority basis.
