Indian police demolish civilian home in Jammu, arrest nine in Samba

Jammu: New Delhi-imposed administration in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), headed by Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha, has razed a two-storey residential house of a civilian in Jammu district.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the demolition took place in Birju Chak (Bishnah) area of Jammu district, where the home of Gulzar Ahmad, known locally as Lahu Gujar, was destroyed by the police on direct orders from the LG.

Indian authorities justified the violent act by alleging that Lahu Gujar, a member of the Kashmiri Gujjar community, had a role in a clash with Indian police that took place on April 9 in Samba district.

In a related development, Indian police, during search operations and house raids, arrested nine persons, including three women, in Balole Khad and Gujjar Basti in the Bari Brahmana area of Samba district under allegations of involvement in the same incident.

The destruction of civilian property and arbitrary arrests underscore the heavy-handed tactics employed by the Indian authorities to suppress any form of resistance or dissent in IIOJK.
