India employing every means to crush Kashmiris’ freedom struggle: Speakers

Muzaffarabad: Speakers at a conference in Muzaffarabad, the capital of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, said that India is using every tactic to suppress the Kashmiri people’s legitimate struggle for their UN-mandated right to self-determination.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the conference titled “Kashmir Dispute and Our Responsibilities” was jointly organized by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter and Ittehad-e-Islami at Aalian College, Ambor. Hurriyat leader Syed Manzoor Ahmad was the chief guest, while other participants included Muhammad Shafi Dar, Mushtaq-ul-Islam and Sheikh Abdul Majeed, and a large number of students.

Addressing the conference, the speakers condemned the ongoing Indian state terrorism in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK). They asserted that India is employing every possible tactic, military, political, economic, and psychological, to crush the Kashmiris’ legitimate struggle for freedom. Despite relentless oppression, the speakers noted, the Kashmiris have remained steadfast and unyielding in their demand for right to self-determination.

The speakers stressed the urgent need to counter India’s malicious propaganda against the freedom movement through intellectual discourse, strategic media engagement, and fact-based narratives. They encouraged students to actively use social media and other platforms to expose India’s lies and inform the global community of the ground realities in Kashmir.

The speakers reaffirmed that the Kashmir dispute is not just a territorial conflict, but a political and humanitarian issue that demands a just resolution in line with UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

The conference concluded with a lively question-and-answer session, where participants explored ways to strengthen advocacy for the Kashmir cause.
