Heavy landslides disrupt traffic on Srinagar-Jammu highway in Ramban

Srinagar: A section of the Srinagar-Jammu highway in Ramban district of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir has been badly affected by a massive landslide due to incessant rains, completely halting traffic on the highway.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the highway has been buried under a thick layer of rocks, mud and debris, trapping hundreds of passengers and goods vehicles. Heavy rainfall has caused severe landslides in the Ramban area.

It is being said that several vehicles have also fallen into a deep gorge, but there is no report of any casualty.

Work has been started to remove the debris scattered on the highway.

Authorities have advised travellers to avoid unnecessary travel and stay tuned to TV channels for updates.
