RSS & BJP instigating communal violence in Bengal: CM Mamata

Kolkata: West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has stated that the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) of instigating communal violence in the state.

According to Kashmir Media Service, in an open letter, Mamata Banerjee stated: “The people of West Bengal should be extremely careful not to fall into their trap. The BJP and its allies have suddenly become very aggressive in West Bengal. These allies include the RSS. They are using the backdrop of an unfortunate incident—provoked deliberately—as a means to play divisive politics.”

The Chief Minister further said that the RSS-BJP alliance aims to incite riots, which could impact all communities. “We love all. We want to live in harmony. We condemn riots. We are firmly against them. They (RSS-BJP) want to divide us for narrow electoral gains,” she asserted.

Appealing for peace and unity, she urged everyone to stay calm and vigilant. “The criminals behind the violence are being dealt with strictly. At the same time, we must not allow mutual mistrust to grow.
