Kashmiris united against BJP’s anti-Kashmir Hindutva agenda: APHC
Minhas reminds UN of its Security Council# 47 Resolution on Kashmir
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference has said that the Kashmiri people are united to foil RSS-BJP’s anti-Kashmir Hindutva agenda to suppress their just demand for right to self-determination.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in statement in Srinagar urged the United Nations to implement its Security Council Resolution#47 on Kashmir, which marks its 77 anniversary of adoption, today. The resolution clearly establishes the right to self-determination of people of Jammu & Kashmir to be exercised through the democratic method of a fair and impartial plebiscite.
He hailed the sacrifices of the people and leadership who are facing continued illegal detentions over eight years including chairman Massrat Aalam Butt, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Muhammad Yasin Malik, Aasiya Andrabi, Nayeem Ahmed Khan, Mushtaqul Islam, Bilal Sidiqi, Molvi Bashir Irfani and Ameer Hamza. He urged people to unite and defeat all India’s nefarious agendas and propaganda against the Hurriyat camp. He said APHC is strong platform which led the aspirations and sentiments of the people.
APHC said that several groups are working as a collaborator to advance the Hindutva extremist organisations’ game plan in Kashmir. However, the statement vowed to continue the freedom struggle till accomplishment of the martyrs’ mission.
The spokesman rejected BJP govt remarks on Kashmir and Pakistan and said such remarks are ridiculous as history of Kashmir is completely different from that of India’s hegemonic and hate statements. He urged India to fulfill its promises with Kashmiris made in the United Nation resolution in 1948 and onwards that Kashmiris have right to decide their political future through plebiscite.
APHC said the oppressive and suppressive measures including cordon and search operations, house raids, seizing properties, and detentions under black laws cannot break Kashmiris’ resolve and they will continue their movement at any cost.
UNSC Resolution 47, adopted on April 21, 1948, addressed the India-Pakistan dispute over Jammu and Kashmir. The resolution reaffirmed previous resolutions, increased the membership of the UN Commission for India and Pakistan (UNCIP), and instructed the Commission to mediate, recommend measures to stop fighting, and facilitate a free and impartial plebiscite to decide the future of the state.
