Shutdown to be observed in IIOJK against Waqft Act on Friday

UN urged to probe all Kashmir massacres, Pahalgam incident

Srinagar: Complete shutdown will be observed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir on Friday against the passage of controversial Waqf Amendment Bill by Indian parliament and issuance of tens of thousands of domicile certificates to outsiders.

According to Kashmir Media Service, call for the strike has been given by the All Parties Hurriyat Conference.

APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar reiterated the appeal for the strike and Dargah and Jamia Masjid Chalo call on Friday, April 25 against the controversial Waqf Amendment Act 2025 and the mass issuance of domicile certificates to outsiders. He called the Waqf Act an anti-Muslim move and a direct assault on the political, religious and social identity of the Kashmiri and Indian Muslims.

The spokesman demanded a probe by the UN-sponsored war crime tribunal into all gruesome massacres in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the attack on tourists in Pahalgam. APHC urged UN to send its team to occupied Kashmir and prob all killings and massacres in the disputed territory.

Regarding Pahalgam attack, the occupied territory, he said, is filled with thousands of Indian army and paramilitary forces personnel including RAW who are always active in uniform and civil dresses.

The spokesman said, every one is aware about Modi-Amit Shah’s hate politics and communal Hindutva and anti Kashmir agendas.

Meanwhile, posters, displayed by APHC in different parts of the territory have also urged people to observe a strike on Friday. They asked the people of Kashmir to foil the nefarious designs of Narendra Modi-led Hindutva regime to change the demographic composition of the territory.

Additionally, the posters have been widely shared on social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.
