Lawmaker threatens Muslims over Azan in Maharashtra
Mumbai: A Bharatiya Janata Party lawmaker, Medha Kulkarni allegedly threatened Muslim community members for saying Azan in a mosque in Maharashtra, India.
According to Kashmir Media Service, a video of the incident has gone viral on social media shows Kulkarni along with her followers approaching members of Muslim community near Punyashwar Temple and Salahuddin Dargah in Pune district during Hanuman jayanti celebrations. She allegedly tried to stop the azan, Muslim call to prayer.
After the incident the members of the Dargah demanded strict action against the MP. However, Kulkarni threatened to file a defamation case against the members.
