Mirwaiz, others concerned about attacks on Kashmiri students, traders in India

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and other Hurriyat leaders have expressed grave concern over the attacks on Kashmiri students and traders by Hindu extremists across India.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a post on social networking site “X” wrote, “The videos of attacks on Kashmiris, especially students, that have surfaced after the Pahalgam incident are worrisome.” He said these videos are a cause of extreme anxiety.

He strongly appealed to the authorities to intervene immediately and ensure the safety and security of Kashmiri students and traders in India.

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference and other Hurriyat organizations have also expressed grave concern over the attacks and harassment of Kashmiri students and the trading community after the Pahalgam incident.

APHC spokesperson Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas, APHC senior leader Agha Syed Hassan Al Moosvi Al Safvi and other organizations, including Jammu and Kashmir Students and Youth Forum (JKSYF), in their statements have strongly condemned the targeting of students and traders in the Indian states.

The statements have appealed to Indian civil society organizations to take notice of the matter and demand an immediate stop to these attacks and ensure the safety and security of the Kashmiris.

The statements also appealed to the UN Secretary General to take notice of the deteriorating situation in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and play a role in resolving the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the resolutions passed by the Security Council.
