Posters displayed across territory in support of shutdown call

Srinagar: Complete shutdown will be observed in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir tomorrow on Friday against the controversial Waqf Amendment Act and issuance of tens of thousands of domicile certificates to outsiders.

According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement issued in Srinagar reiterated the call for the strike and Dargah and Jamia Masjid Chalo call, tomorrow, April 25. He called the Waqf Act an anti-Muslim move and a direct assault on the political, religious and social identity of the Kashmiri and Indian Muslims.

The APHC spokesman said Kashmir’s struggle for freedom is indigenous, which seeks exercise of the UN-pledged plebiscite acknowledged by India itself. He said Abrogation of Articles 370 and 35 A is unacceptable to people of Jammu and Kashmir. Minhas urged international community to take India to task for flouting UN resolutions on Kashmir and violating international agreement like Indus Water Treaty. Minhas said that India’s “might is right policy” should not be allowed to prevail as it will give rise to the law of jungle in the world.

He urged the United Nations to send a team to occupied Kashmir to probe all gruesome massacres in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and the attack on tourists in Pahalgam.

Meanwhile, posters, displayed by APHC in different parts of the territory have also urged people to observe a strike on Friday. They asked the people of Kashmir to foil the nefarious designs of Narendra Modi-led Hindutva regime to change the demographic composition of the territory.

Additionally, the posters have been widely shared on social media platforms, including Facebook and Twitter.
