BJP MLA raises Hindutva slogans, pastes objectionable poster after entering mosque in Rajasthan
Jaipur: In yet another act of religious provocation, BJP MLA Balmukund Acharya entered a mosque in BJP-ruled Rajasthan state, raised Hindutva slogans targeting the Muslim community, and pasted an objectionable poster on the mosque’s staircase.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the incident took place in the Johri Bazar area of Jaipur, when the BJP legislator entered Jamia Masjid during night prayers. The act triggered widespread outrage, with locals accusing the MLA of deliberately inciting communal tensions.
Tensions escalated as crowds gathered outside the mosque, demanding immediate action against Balmukund Acharya. Congress MLAs Amin Kagzi and Rafiq Khan also joined the protestors in a show of solidarity.
Following the uproar, an FIR was registered at Manak Chowk police station based on a complaint filed by a Jamia Masjid Committee member. The complaint stated that Acharya and his supporters forcefully entered the mosque, shouted provocative slogans, and issued threats to the worshippers.
The incident has sparked condemnation across political and civil society circles, with calls for the arrest of the BJP legislator and an end to growing religious hostility under the current regime.
