PM Shahbaz Sharif reaffirms support for Kashmiris’ right to self-determination

Rejects India's baseless allegations following Pahalgam incident

Islamabad: Pakistan Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has categorically rejected India’s baseless and unsubstantiated allegations following the recent Pahalgam incident, reaffirming Pakistan’s principled stance on the Kashmir dispute and calling Kashmir the “jugular vein” of the nation.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif made these remarks while addressing the passing-out ceremony of cadets at the Pakistan Military Academy (PMA) in Kakul. He strongly criticized the international community’s failure to resolve the long-standing Kashmir dispute and paid tribute to the countless sacrifices made by the Kashmiri people in their struggle for freedom.

“Let there be no doubt: Pakistan will continue to support the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination until they achieve their just cause through their great struggle and sacrifices,” he stated.

Rejecting India’s perpetual blame game, PM Shahbaz warned that any misadventure by India would be met with full force.

The Prime Minister also condemned the ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza, calling for an immediate end to atrocities and reaffirming Pakistan’s unwavering support for the Palestinian people and their right to an independent homeland.

Highlighting the importance of water security, Sharif said that Pakistan will not tolerate any violations of the Indus Waters Treaty. “Water is our lifeline. If our water is stopped in violation of the treaty, we will respond with full force. This is non-negotiable,” he warned.

He assured the nation that Pakistan’s armed forces are fully prepared to counter any threat and emphasized that the 250 million citizens of Pakistan stand united behind their military.

The event was attended by federal ministers, foreign diplomats, senior military officials, and other dignitaries. Chief of Army Staff General Syed Asim Munir, Defence Minister Khawaja Asif, and Information Minister Attaullah Tarar were also present at the ceremony.
