APHC-AJK condemns demolition of houses, mass arrests of youth in IIOJK
Islamabad: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter has strongly condemned the demolition of houses and the arrest of thousands of innocent youth in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, the APHC-AJK chapter in a statement issued in Islamabad said the Modi regime is using such acts of state terrorism using the Pahalgam incident as a pretext to displace and harass Kashmiris in a desperate attempt to force them into submission to Indian occupation.
The statement said that while the Pahalgam incident is tragic and deserves condemnation, using it as an excuse to punish the entire Kashmiri population, demolish their homes, and arrest youth is utterly reprehensible and a blatant violation of international laws. It termed these actions as a clear manifestation of Indian state terrorism, a gross human rights violation, and a deliberate conspiracy to deprive the Kashmiri people of their basic rights.
The APHC-AJK said the Modi government is pursuing a policy of spreading fear in IIOJK to crush the legitimate demand of the Kashmiri people for their right to self-determination. The arrest of thousands of innocent youth and their detention in torture cells has caused immense suffering not only to the detainees but also to their families and the entire Kashmiri nation, the statement added.
The APHC-AJK appealed to the international community and global human rights organizations to take serious notice of India’s illegal and unconstitutional actions and play an effective role in halting these atrocities. It urged the world community to fulfil its responsibilities by facilitating a just resolution to the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.
The statement warned that any further delay in resolving the Kashmir issue poses a grave threat to global peace, as the region remains under the shadow of a potential nuclear conflict. It called on world powers to take immediate notice of the deteriorating situation and take concrete steps for sustainable peace in South Asia.
Furthermore, APHC-AJK leaders, including Information Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Zahid Ashraf and Zahid Safi, reiterated the unwavering commitment of the Kashmiri people to continue their struggle for the right to self-determination. They said the people of Kashmir will never bow before Indian tyranny and urged the international community to support their just cause.
Meanwhile, Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir Chairman Uzair Ahmed Ghazali has written a letter to United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guetress to take notice of Indian brutality against unarmed civilians in IIOJK. He appealed to the Security Council to break its silence on the injustices being done to Kashmiri citizens by the Indian government.
