Faheem Kiani express deep concern over worsening situation in IIOJK

Islamabad: President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir UK, Faheem Kiyani, has expressed deep concern over the worsening situation in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and called on the international community and human rights organizations to take immediate action to halt the brutalities being committed by Indian occupying forces.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Faheem Kiani made these remarks during a visit to the office of the All Parties Hurriyat Conference Azad Jammu and Kashmir (APHC-AJK) chapter in Islamabad.

During the meeting, APHC-AJK Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi briefed the delegation on the grave human rights violations taking place in IIOJK, especially following the recent Pahalgam incident. He said the Indian government is following an Israeli-style model of repression, unleashing widespread violence against unarmed civilians. “Kashmiris are terrified, even within their own homes,” he added.

Safi said that using the Pahalgam incident as a pretext, India—along with more than one million of its troops—has unleashed a reign of terror throughout Kashmir. He added that civilian homes are being destroyed using explosives, thousands of innocent Kashmiris are being arbitrarily detained, and the region has been turned into an open-air prison. The people of Kashmir have been deprived of all basic, religious, political, and social rights.

The Hurriyat leaders urged the government and people of Pakistan, as well as the broader international community, to take tangible steps to protect Kashmiris from Indian state oppression.

Faheem Kiyani reiterated that overseas Kashmiris stand in full solidarity with their oppressed brothers and sisters in IIOJK. He vowed to expose Indian state terrorism at every international forum and raise awareness about the grave human rights abuses taking place in the occupied territory.

Ghulam Muhammad Safi also called on the international community to play an effective role in ensuring the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination as enshrined in United Nations resolutions.

The Tehreek-e-Kashmir delegation included Akhtar Rana, President of Tehreek-e-Kashmir Italy, Chaudhry Babar Warraich, Hassan Sardar Warraich, Khulfan Bangash, and others.

Meanwhile, Director General of Pakistan House, Rana Athar Javed, also visited the APHC-AJK office and held discussions with Convener Ghulam Muhammad Safi and other Hurriyat leaders. He strongly condemned the atrocities perpetrated by Indian forces in the wake of the Pahalgam incident and affirmed that Pakistan will not leave its Kashmiri brothers and sisters at the mercy of India.

The meeting was also attended by General Secretary Advocate Parvez Ahmed, Hurriyat leaders Altaf Hussain Wani, Shameem Shawl, Mushtaq Ahmed Butt, Nisar Mirza, Zahid Safi, Dawood Khan, Sheikh Abdul Majeed, Syed Gulshan, Zahid Mujtaba, and others. KMS-17U
