Kashmiri diaspora must expose Indian atrocities in IIOJK: AJK President
Islamabad\: President of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, Barrister Sultan Mahmood Chaudhry, has urged Kashmiri diaspora, particularly in the United Kingdom, to expose the ongoing Indian atrocities in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK).
According to Kashmir Media Service, Barrister Sultan made these remarks during a meeting with his longtime associate and former advisor, Chaudhry Shaban, at Kashmir House in Islamabad. He stated that after the recent Pahalgam incident, India’s narrative has been discredited globally, and it is now imperative for the Kashmiri diaspora to act collectively to uncover India’s oppressive actions and reveal its nefarious designs to the world.
He directed Chaudhry Shaban to mobilize and unite the overseas Kashmiri community in the UK to raise the Kashmir issue on international platforms and counter India’s disinformation campaign and to alert the international community about India’s fascist policies against the Kashmiri people.
The AJK President emphasized that the international community must play its role in ensuring the implementation of UN resolutions and granting the Kashmiri people their right to self-determination. He acknowledged the strong efforts made by Kashmiris in the UK in the past to highlight the Kashmir cause and said that now is the time to intensify efforts and awaken the conscience of the world regarding the plight of the oppressed Kashmiri people.
Barrister Sultan further said that since the illegal abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, India has launched systematic efforts to crush the freedom movement and annex IIOJK completely, leaving Kashmiris facing unbearable hardships. He added that India has used the Pahalgam incident as a pretext to unleash a fresh wave of repression in the occupied territory.
He called upon the international community to take concrete steps to resolve the Kashmir dispute and to end the ongoing Indian state terrorism in the occupied territory.
