Modi regime launches multi-front propaganda to eclipse Kashmir dispute

Srinagar: The BJP-led India’s Hindutva regime and its sponsored media continue propaganda against the caged people of Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir and Pakistan in a desperate attempt to legitimize its illegal occupation of the disputed territory.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Srinagar-based political analysts and activists—speaking anonymously for fear of reprisals—have denounced Indian media and the BJP government’s propaganda as a sham aimed at distorting Kashmiri sentiments and their sacrifices for the right to self-determination through plebiscite.

An analyst stated, “The Indian government wants to falsely portray normalcy in occupied Kashmir, even linking the tragic Pahalgam incident to the Kashmiri freedom struggle. But reality is starkly different.” He added that after the Pahalgam incident, Kashmiris face brutal oppression—mass detentions, house demolitions, and property seizures—during relentless raids, while their voices are crushed by military force. “Jammu and Kashmir is an internationally recognized disputed territory, acknowledged by India in UN resolutions, with a promised plebiscite. Yet when Kashmiris remind India of its commitments, they are jailed. India’s hegemonic occupation fuels regional tensions,” the analyst said.

An activist noted, “Kashmiris have long demanded UN-guaranteed self-determination, but India denies this right, imposing its rule through military force.” The activist said, “The current NC government is powerless; New Delhi’s Home Ministry and LG Manoj Sinha directly rule Kashmir, using paramilitary and police forces to advance anti-Kashmir agendas.” He added, “Election theatrics in this disputed territory undermine the UN’s credibility, which mandates a plebiscite reflecting Kashmiri aspirations.”

Experts warned that Delhi’s multi-pronged propaganda seeks to erode Kashmir’s core issue, endangering people. They urged Kashmiris to resist efforts to dismantle their demands, including statehood under Articles 370 and 35A.
