Civil society denounces Indian media for hurting public sentiments in IIOJK
Srinagar: The civil society members have expressed serious concern over a managed and coordinated attempt by Indian media men and bloggers to manipulate and hurt the public sentiments in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the civil society members, including Dr Zubair Ahmed Raja, Muhammad Furhan, Muhammad Iqbal Shaheen and Syed Haider Hussain in a meeting in Srinagar said Indian media, youtubers and bloggers, mostly sponsored by the Indian army, agencies and BJP regime, are exploiting sentiments and asking baseless questions to propagate against the resistance camp and Pakistan.
The media outlets are provoking Kashmiri people, especially youth, and hurting their sentiments when the Kashmiris are in fear and facing different kinds of violence and human rights violations in the territory after abrogation of articles 370 and 35A and the recent tragedy in Pahalgam, they said.
They said the disputed territory is full of graves, widows, orphans and thousands are in jails on political vendetta which the Kashmiris never forget.
“These Hindutva RSS/BJP agenda-sponsored persons are maligning us and defaming the Kashmiris’ righteous demand of plebiscite, promised by India in the United Nations”, they said.
And now, they said, a huge suspected outsider social media YouTubers has descended on Kashmir, pushing leading non serious negative stereotypes, urging people to avoid such Indian media and bloggers.
The civil society members also demanded an international probe of all kinds of massacres and killings in the territory during the last 37 years.
They also called upon the Kashmiri political leaders and those who were elected by votes on promises of regaining full statehood with 370/35A to introspect themselves why Kashmiris are facing such fear and injustice for decades.
The members urged the Indian civil society and peace-loving leaders to come forward and play their role in bringing peace and political and economic stability in the region.
They urged the Indian BJP government to shun its hate and rigid policies and resolve the Kashmir dispute through the talks process.
