Four killed, several injured in IIOJK mishaps

Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, multiple tragic incidents claimed lives and left several injured due to adverse weather conditions and road mishaps.

According to Kashmir Media Service, one person was killed and another was rescued after a boat capsized in Dal Lake in Srinagar amid strong gusty winds.

Local rescuers recovered the body of the youth, identified as Taufeeq Ahmad Chopan, 24, a resident of Chopan Mohalla, Rainawari, on Saturday morning. The boat had overturned on Friday afternoon, throwing two fishermen into the lake. While one was rescued soon after, Chopan remained untraceable until his body was retrieved the next day.

Meanwhile, at least two people were killed and two others injured when a vehicle overturned in Rajouri district. The accident took place near the Dalhori area. The deceased were identified as Shakoor Ahmad, 22, a resident of Dalhori Talli, and Azhar Ali, 12, from Manjakote.

In a separate incident, eleven people sustained injuries in a road accident near the Nashri Tunnel along the Srinagar-Jammu Highway.

Additionally, a man lost his life after being struck by lightning in the Gunsaigam area of Kulgam district. The deceased was identified as Tariq Ahmad Padder.
