Pakistan's Support to Kashmir

New Delhi refusing to honour UNSC resolutions on Kashmir: Dr. Faisal

Pakistan ready for dialogue but will respond to any Indian aggression

London: Pakistan’s High Commissioner to the United Kingdom, Dr Mohammad Faisal, has said that India is not honouring its commitment to hold a referendum in Jammu and Kashmir as per the United Nations Security Council (UNSC) resolutions.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Dr Mohammad Faisal made these remarks during an interview with a British television channel. He stated, “Let us resolve the issue of Jammu and Kashmir. The solution lies in accepting that Kashmir is a disputed territory and that the issue should be resolved in accordance with bilateral agreements and the UN Security Council resolutions.”

He emphasised that Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) remains the core issue between India and Pakistan and rejected Indian allegations regarding the Pahalgam incident as baseless and unsupported by evidence.

“Pakistan has already offered an independent international investigation into the Pahalgam incident. Whoever is involved should be punished,” he said. “Pakistan is willing to participate in such an investigation to uncover the truth. We condemn terrorism in all its forms and manifestations.”

Dr Faisal noted that Pakistan itself has been a victim of terrorism and highlighted that over 900,000 Indian troops are stationed in IIOJK. “India is belligerent in its posture towards Pakistan. We do not wish to escalate tensions. India is our neighbour, and neighbours cannot be changed. We have to coexist. Pakistan wants a peaceful resolution of all issues through dialogue,” he added.

However, he warned that Pakistan would respond if India launched any aggression.
