Mirwaiz pays tributes to Maulana Vastanvi, describes him as dedicated scholar

Srinagar: All Parties Hurriyat Conference senior leader Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Hazrat Maulana Ghulam Mohammad Vastanvi, a distinguished Islamic scholar and visionary educationist of the Muslim community.

According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a message posted on his official handle, paid rich tributes to Maulana Vastanvi, describing him as a forward-thinking and dedicated scholar who devoted his life to integrating traditional Islamic knowledge with modern education.

As the founder of Jamia Islamia Ishaatul Uloom in Akkalkuwa, which houses the first minority-run medical college in India, Maulana Vastanvi’s pioneering efforts left a lasting imprint on the educational and religious upliftment of the Muslim community across the country.

Mirwaiz said Maulana Vastanvi’s legacy will continue to inspire generations and serve as a model for holistic development grounded in faith and progress.

He prayed to Allah Almighty to rest the departed soul in eternal peace and give courage to the bereaved family to bear the irreparable loss.
