Speakers remember Ashraf Sehrai for lifelong commitment to Kashmir freedom struggle
Muzaffarabad: Speakers at a seminar stated that Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sehrai sacrificed his life and remained committed to the freedom struggle of Jammu and Kashmir.
According to Kashmir Media Service, the seminar titled “Banda-e-Sehrai, Mard-e-Kohistani” was organized by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Jammu and Kashmir to pay glowing tributes to senior All Parties Hurriyat Conference leader Shaheed Muhammad Ashraf Khan Sehrai on his 4th martyrdom anniversary.
The seminar was addressed by Pasban-e-Hurriyat Chairman Uzair Ahmad Ghazali, along with Hurriyat leaders Mushtaq-ul-Islam, Usman Ali Hashim, Shaukat Javed Mir, Raja Muhammad Aftab, Umar Asif, Mehnaz Qureshi, Chaudhry Ferozuddin, Sarandaz Mir, Qari Abdul Majid, Muhammad Ishaq Shaheen, Khawaja Muhammad Sadiq, and others. A large number of citizens, including women, participated in the event and paid heartfelt tributes to the great leader.
The speakers termed Ashraf Sehrai’s custodial martyrdom a part of the Modi-led BJP regime’s sinister conspiracy to silence the pro-freedom leadership in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir. They stated that his death in custody was nothing short of a state-sponsored killing, carried out under a deliberate policy to eliminate resistance leaders by keeping them imprisoned without access to proper medical care.
The speakers lauded Sehrai’s unparalleled struggle for Islam, the Kashmiris’ right to self-determination, and the freedom movement.
They held Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah, Rajnath Singh, and Ajit Doval directly responsible for denying medical treatment to the ailing Sehrai during his imprisonment, leading to his death.
The speakers affirmed that the sacrifices of Shaheed Ashraf Sehrai and his martyred son Junaid Sehrai would never be forgotten. They described Sehrai as a true asset of the Kashmiri freedom struggle and a powerful symbol of resistance against Indian oppression and brutality.
Participants offered special prayers for Shaheed Ashraf Sehrai, the martyrs of Kashmir, the martyrs of the Pakistan Armed Forces, and the martyrs of Palestine and Gaza. KMS-11U
