Indian forces arrest over 2800 youth in sweeping house raids, search operations in IIOJK

Srinagar: Indian forces’ personnel took into custody over 2800 Kashmiri youth during massive crackdown operations and house raids in different areas of Kashmir valley in Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir since Pahlgam incident on April 22.

According to Kashmir Media Service, this was confirmed by V K Birdi, the Inspector General of Police (IGP) for Kashmir. “So far, 90 people have been booked under PSA from different parts of Kashmir,” Birdi told local media. “As many as 2,800 over-ground workers have also been detained. The crackdown will be intensified further.”

Indian forces’ personnel barge into houses and seize bank and properties documents, mobiles, laptop and other digital devices under the black law Unlawful Activities Prevention Act (UAPA) in different areas of Srinagar and other parts of the Kashmir valley. During house raids and search operations, the forces’ personnel damage properties and goods and also loot gold and money.

The reports gleaning from media-clad Kashmir valley suggest that among those whose houses were raided and searched in Srinagar alone include:

1. Bashir Ahmad Bhat in Sozieth area of Srinagar.

2. Tawheed Ahmad in Goripora Sozieth area of Srinagar.

3. Ashiq Bashir Najar in Soiteng area of Srinagar.

4. Detained Salik Mehraj Dar in Soiteng area of Srinagar.

5. Jailed Umer Adil Dar in Soiteng area of Srinagar.

6. Bilal Ahmad Mir in Parimpora area of Srinagar

7. Burhan Nazir Khushoo in Berooni Kathidarwaza Rainawari area of Srinagar

8. Ashiq Malik in Panzinara area of Srinagar

9. Ishfaq Ahmad Wani in Hamdaniya Colony Sector 4/A of Srinagar.

10. Mudasir Ahmad Mir in Malikpora Barthana area of Srinagar

11. Irfan Ahmad Lone in Bilal Colony Qamarwari area of Srinagar

12. Irfan Ahmad Seeru in Khan-e-Sokhta Nawakadal area of Srinagar.

13.Naseer Ahmad Mir in Saderbal, Hazratbal area of Srinagar

The All Parties Hurriyat Conference spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar while condemned in the house and terrorizing the families urged United Nations to send their teams to occupied Kashmir and monitor the ground situation. He also called on UN to resolve the Kashmir dispute as per the United Nations resolutions which will led peace, political and economy stability in the region. He said Kashmiris are the worst victims of this unresolved Kashmir dispute.
