JKCHR condemns missile strikes on Pakistan, AJK

London: The Jammu and Kashmir Council for Human Rights (JKCHR) has strongly condemned the midnight missile attacks on Bahawalpur in Pakistan and Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir.

According to Kashmir Media Service, the JKCHR in a statement issued in London said the deliberate targeting of civilian populations, including women and minor children as well as the forced deportation of their mothers, who are citizens of the disputed territory, constitutes a grave breach of humanitarian norms and international law. It said these acts amount to war crimes and demand immediate accountability.

The JKCHR reiterates that the India government should have accepted Pakistan’s proposal for a neutral, independent, and transparent investigation into the Pahalgam incident.

It urged the United Nations Security Council to assume its positive duty in Jammu and Kashmir, in accordance with the binding commitments made under UN supervision.
