India’s might policy on Kashmir dispute turns region into war: APHC
Srinagar: The All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), reiterating its demand of plebiscite, has said that India’s might policy and obstinate stance on Kashmir dispute have turned the region into a ticking time bomb and war.
According to Kashmir Media Service, APHC spokesman Advocate Abdul Rashid Minhas in a statement in Srinagar said the Hindutva Indian regime led by the BJP has intensified its repression against the freedom-loving Kashmiris, making them aliens in their own homeland.
He said that decades of Indian occupation and India’s obstinate stance had turned Kashmir into a potential nuclear flashpoint and any misstep could trigger regional catastrophe.
The BJP-led Indian government is using coercive tactics, including violating international laws by making attacks and air strikes on Pakistan and AJK areas and projecting fake narratives through its paid media and Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri to suppress people in occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
APHC said ignoring Kashmir is no longer an option, adding unresolved Kashmir threatens peace in the entire South Asia and the global powers and the UN must act before it is too late.
The APHC said the Indian rulers’ claims of normalcy in occupied Jammu and Kashmir are far from reality, rather, devastation has added manifold in the territory since August 2019.
It said that the Indian government’s assertions about restoring normalcy in IIOJK were flawed as house raids and search operations continue and thousands of Kashmiris, including Hurriyat leadership, youth and women, are languishing in jails of Indian and IOJK without facing any trial.
The APHC spokesperson urged the United Nations to take notice of the ongoing war-like situation and crimes being committed by India in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and put pressure on New Delhi to resolve the Kashmir dispute in line with the Security Council resolutions.
