Mirwaiz welcomes ceasefire by India, Pakistan
Srinagar: In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, senior leader of All Parties Hurriyat Conference Mirwaiz Umar Farooq has welcomed the ceasefire by India and Pakistan.
According to Kashmir Media Service, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq in a statement on X termed the ceasefire a huge relief for all, especially those living on both sides of the Line of Control (LoC) where precious lives were lost and shelter and livelihoods destroyed.
“Alhumdulilah. Better sense has prevailed and India and Pakistan have agreed to a ceasefire . It’s a huge relief for all, especially those living on both sides of the LOC where precious lives were lost and shelter and livelihoods destroyed. The possibility of talks among the two as stated by US secretary Marco Rubio on a broad set of issues, is a welcome outcome. Talks are the means to peace and stability. Glad that leadership on both sides agreed to this,” Mirwaiz Umar Farooq said.
Meanwhile, APHC senior leader and President of Anjuman Sharie Shian Agha Syed Hassan Al-Moosvi Al-Safvi in a statement in Srinagar also welcomed the ceasefire between Pakistan and India.
He said if India and Pakistan demonstrate seriousness in resolving their mutual disputes with sincerity, not only can the long history of traditional hostility between the two countries end, but the arms race in the region will also end and a new era of development and progress will begin.
